Movement

Image
Throughout the first half of the twentieth century, I took inspiration by Artist Sonia Delaunay, She celebrated the modern world of movement technology and urban life, exploring new ideas about colour theory together with her husband Robert Delaunay, her vibrant artistic practice across a wide range of media. It features the groundbreaking paintings, textiles and clothes she made across a sixty-year career, as well as the result of her innovative collaborations with poets, choreographers and manufacturers, from Diaghilev to Liberty.

Sustainable sample

These freehand embroidery I like the texture of lines, shapes it creates also a drawing I did of my threads  by lying them down and creating an image and I drew the image  I focused on shape and added stitch to my drawing to see what effect this created. I like this experiment because I like the colours and I believe it could be improved even further on Photoshop and would look good on a garment.

Sustainability, Recycling and up cycling samples

Image
At the moment, only a few communities have textile recycling programs. This means that about 80 percent of textile waste goes to landfills, where it occupies about 5 percent of the space. Since 95 percent of post- consumer textiles are in fact recyclable, there should be enough reason to take measures in this direction, but before even reaching the end of a garment,s useful life, there are other methods that can help the industry become more sustainable. Sustainability can not start at the end of garment,s life cycle but must be approached at every step of the design process. The best eco-friendly and sustainable fashion brands pursue this goal from the very beginning.

sustainabilty

Sustainable is a part of the growing design and trend of sustainability, the idea is within to create a system which can be supported on the environment and social responsibility. Sustainable is a word that associate with our environment waste and recycling, water consumption and climate change, chemical usage and animal welfare. My personal view on sustainable is that taking care of community as well as the environment. It means safety and having responsibility. It means quality, and equality. When the garment is completely worn out, it should be returned to a collection, point for recycling of the textile material , which is later be reused in the manufacturing of new clothes or other textile products.

Architecture

Image
I chose this building to draw life drawing that I analysed because I thought this  was really well designed and iconic in the city, which it is found in and designers did really well to design something original and eye catching. So I focused on building  that has a large amount of people using it, I was fascinated by seeing how human interaction can influence the design of buildings.

Development Design

Image
My development design is based on architecture. I have chosen samples from my drawings of building in Manchester. The purpose of this pictures was to produce a garment, a design for the fashion show with a high quality of work and it has to have a strong as this will be going in the fashion show so it has to be done in professional level. I looked at the history of Manchester buildings to start my brief off. My idea is to produce a garment for the fashion show is to make a unique shape of garment using a fabric and use old and new buildings and lesser cutting with bright colours taken from the artist Marc Alta,s work. My aim focus will be to experiment on different techniques and to have a clear story throughout my progression on my sketchbook and on my final garment.

Design Borad

The aim of this concept is to explore the impacts of architecture on humans, their feelings and behaviour, and to formulate recommendations for the planning and design of buildings. This research area poses question about the effect of outdoor and indoor spaces on people in cognitive, emotional and social term. How can homes, offices and buildings in general be designed and structured. So that they reduce stress or promote well being.
